Dear Birthday presents,

I am excited to receive you.  I promise not to just toss you in my closet amongst all the cluttered junk I have collected over the years.  I will honor you as the symbol of generosity and friendly love you represent.  Even though I sometimes might not want you.

All I got for Christmas was a Pirate Treasure and Riddle

After unwrapping 45 meters of wrapping paper to my surprise I had wrapped myself pirate treasure separated in two trunks.  The first trunk had a skeleton holding a map.  The second trunk had a mirror.  I hopped in the first trunk and ended up in Bermuda with the second trunk full to the brim with golden doubloons.

Its a riddle...  can you figure it out?  I'll bet you can't.  Whoever solves it first gets a linen bag chock full of Buffalo Nickels, making this THE FIRST FPF GIVEAWAY.  Take some guesses and win those Nickels.

The Rare Northeastern Scottish Wingless Owl

The rare North Eastern Scottish Wingless owl began of course as a cat before crawling out of its furry cocoon and owling.  These strigiformes have claimed their name to fame being best friend of... you guessed it...  the fox!

Unlike man whose bestfriend is canine the fox took a liken to nonthreatening cats and owls which led to the two typically quarrelsome animals to make amends in honor of befriending fox and incidentally began breeding during a trip to Scotland back in the 50's creating what today is known as the rare hybrid "Scottish Wingless Owl".

Jacket:  Harris Tweed and Baracuta of England teamed up back in the 60's to make this reversible version of the classic Harrington Jacket.  They still sell something similar today.

Long Line of Prized Buck Foxes

Mother was the horniest fox in our region and had the award winner rack to prove it.  Taking 1st in our annual, regional prize buck competition 10 years in a row (aside from 1939 when the competition had been slept through due to the turkey contest doltishly held the day before putting the entire region to sleep the succeeding day) it was to no surprise at all when her son ended her streak as the unbeaten blue ribbon buck the first season he antlered.  Her son was me... the bucks Angry... its not fair when foxes are buxes.

The Reindeer Aren't the Only Ones with Antlers

Christmas in New England is almost magical. The scent of wreathes and freshly trimmed Christmas trees fill the air. The sound of the crackling logs burning in the fireplace creates the coziness that only comes at this time of year. Outside, the snow fall makes the whole world look lustrous, twinkling and glistening in the moonlight. It is a time to celebrate and remember friends and loved ones.

The right holiday playlist evokes all kinds of emotions, excitement as the season begins, the innocent anticipation of children waiting for Santa Claus, to the festive brilliance of holiday parties. Some Christmas music brings feelings of romance for that special someone, or the bittersweet feeling of loved ones that can't be with you, but always have a warm place in your heart. Most of all Christmas music is about love, home, and family.

As I sit at my desk, warmed by the hearth, writing out my holiday greeting cards, I thought I would share with you some of the music that is my companion during this wonderful time of year.

Gone Birding

Birdwatching or birding is the observation of birds as a recreational activity.

Most birdwatchers pursue this activity mainly for recreational or social reasons.

As a fox I often find the hobby of birding to be a bothersome burden as my unamused boredom flip-flops baring teeth, mouthwatering by binocular spotted rare North Eastern Spotted feathery something, plucked up, served up medium rare.

Seasons Turn, Turned Stones Turn Crayfish

It was only in that second I had realized, that it was about another minute before I truly grasped how quickly, time had so precisely ticked so quickly, to bring these colder months ahead to me so swiftly.  Crayfish, you mini lake lobstering treat.  Desiring you, lifting stones with my nose, finding and tossing you up, exo-bones and devouring your delicious offerings slyly winking at that Summer eve moon's last beat.  28 crayfish thereafter, asleep a peachy fox on the beach.

Stick 'Em Up

Allow me to introduce you to a good friend of mine.  His name is New England and I am his heart, as I am the 5 point Fox.  It seems my left antler seems to be sprouting another point, but for now is a nub.  In the case that it continues to grow on, I shall simply invite Mrs. Molly Fox to file it on down with her pearly teeth.  Five points is more than enough.  Not the number of antler points which matters, but what you do with what you have.
